Triptych of Idiocy

1. I'm learning to drive manual / stick shift. It's going pretty well. Except for a few hairy moments. Like being on a 100km country road without due preparation. "THERE'S A FIFTH GEAR??!!!"

2. I watered the garden last night. I opened up the tap on Hank the Tank, set the hose on the broad beans and wandered inside to cook dinner. At 11pm, I remembered. Result: I sodden beans, flooded concrete and an empty tank.

3. I watched Knocked Up on the telly last night. What a truly execrable film.

What stupid things have you done lately?

I withdrew $120 from an ATM, but I was on the phone and I walked away without taking the money (stupid) and went and bought some wheatgerm (stupid) and didn't realise until I'd got home with an abundance of wheatgerm and no money, but then I called the bank (clever) and after a fortnight's investigation they found that none of the seedy characters in the shopping centre had taken the money (lucky) and they reversed it. So I guess it wasn't stupid after all. Now we have enough money to buy 24 more bags of wheatgerm.

On the plus side, it's likely to rain today and Hank should be filling up again.

On the down side - that really sucks.

The fifth gear is good. Just remember though that there is no 6th gear - trying to slam the car into reverse at 100kph won't be good for it.

Why did you watch Knocked Up?
